Larry R. Larson, Principal of Larson Associates, is a consultant working with arts organizations seeking to use technology in innovative and creative ways. He has specialized in helping these groups use databases and dynamic web sites to realize ambitious programmatic and administrative goals.
Prior to launching his consulting practice, Larson was Director of Grant Programs for the California Arts Council (where he received a special resolution from the California State Senate in 1985 acknowledging his "contributions to the Arts of California through innovative uses of computer technology,) and was a member of the original NEA National Information Systems Project (NISP), the first such project of its type (were it the only one!). He has also served in senior administrative positions at the San Francisco and Houston symphonies, and has been an advisor on musical and technical matters to the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and many others. Larson also serves on the boards of the Kronos Quartet , American Music Center and LEONARDO, the MIT journal devoted to Arts and Technology.
